Time to Celebrate The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee
June is set to be a momentous month for the Royal Family. Already the longest-serving female head of state in history, Queen Elizabeth II will commemorate 70 years since she acceded to the throne and celebrate her Platinum Jubilee with a special four-day weekend. From street parties to a special 50p coin, the stage is set for a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend commemorating this historic milestone.
Plant a tree for the Jubilee
In recognition of the Queen’s remarkable achievement, Prince Charles has called on the nation to plant a tree for the Jubilee as part of a project called The Queens Green Canopy, a unique tree planting initiative.
The aim is to create a legacy in honour of The Queen’s leadership of the Nation which will last for many generations. As well as inviting the planting of new trees, The Queen’s Green Canopy will dedicate a network of 70 Ancient Woodlands across the United Kingdom and identify 70 Ancient Trees to celebrate Her Majesty’s 70 years of service.
"Working woodlands and magnificent trees span our nation's amazing landscape and exist for everyone to enjoy. At the same time, they support biodiversity, and help to provide us with the most versatile and beautiful of materials for our craftsmen and women."

Designed and handmade in Kent, the Darwin and the Turner are crafted in solid English Ash, using the time-honoured traditional joinery skills that Prince Charles refers to, making them not only beautiful and comfortable, but ensuring they will last for years to come.
For every sale from our Jubilee Collection, we will ‘Plant a tree for the Jubilee’ in association with The Queen’s Green Canopy and help to build the woodland legacy in honour of the Queen’s 70 years’ service.
By supporting this charitable cause, our gifted English ash trees will go towards creating green spaces in deprived urban areas and schools across the UK

Felicity Randolph, founder, Gabriella James, Chairmakers says:
“It was a pleasure to create this Special Edition Jubilee Collection to commemorate the work and dedication of Her Majesty the Queen for 70 years. As the Darwin is a Windsor Chair, it makes perfect sense to include it in our Jubilee Collection. Both the Darwin and the Turner stool are handmade from sustainably sourced English Ash so we would like to support The Queen’s Green Canopy charity by planting an Ash tree for the Jubilee with the sale of every Special Edition Darwin and Turner Stool during 2022.”
